★Functional Description
ZDR type valves are direct-acting pressure reducing valves in a stacked plate design with pressure limiting secondary lines. It is used to reduce system pressure.
The pressure reducing valve consists of a valve body (1), a control spool (2), a compression spring (3), a pressure regulator (4) and an optional check valve.
The secondary pressure is set by the pressure regulator (4).
Model A
In the initial position the valve is open. Hydraulic fluid can flow unrestricted from channel A1 to channel A2. With the pilot line (5), the pressure in channel A(2) is simultaneously applied to the surface of the spool in relation to the compression spring (3). If the pressure in channel A(2) rises above the value set at the compression spring (3), the control spool (2) overcomes the compression spring (3) and moves to the control position, thus keeping the set pressure in channel A(2) constant.
The control signal and pilot oil are supplied from inside channel A(2) through the control line (5). If the pressure in channel A(2) continues to increase due to external forces acting on the actuator, the control spool (2) will continue to move against the compression spring (3).
